In the spring of 2018, ACT leaders engaged in a listening campaign over several months. ACT members were trained on how to conduct relational meetings and listening sessions and set goals to actively listen to a broad base of 1,500 residents who could answer the questions: What keeps you awake at night? What is one specific change that would make life better for you and your family? What story can you share that illustrates why you care so much about the issue?

Mutual concern and stories, coupled with ACT community leaders who have a self-interest in specific issues, provide the equation for ACT’s organizing for change in Anne Arundel County. ACT is currently building power for change around these important goals with these issue-focused teams:
